The M.O. Looney Building on the campus of Missouri Western State University houses the Missouri Western Athletics Fieldhouse. This facility is home to the Griffon Volleyball and Basketball teams. Complete with arena and practice gym, the Fieldhouse boasts between 2 and 6 full court basketball or volleyball courts, dependant upon seating requirements. The building also is home to 4 racquetball courts, a 6-lane (25 yard) indoor pool, and 4 lighted outdoor tennis courts. The Fieldhouse amenities include numerous locker rooms, multiple restrooms, concessions area, scoreboards, athletic training room, public address system, seating for 3,750, and much more!

The 25 acre Northside Recreational Complex serves as the site of the Krug Park Swimming Pool, complete with pool house and concessions. The complex also features a lighted ballfield with appropriate seating, two lighted outdoor basketball courts, two horseshoe courts, two lighted racquetball courts, three lighted tennis courts, and three football fields. The complex also boasts restrooms, concession area, and a new (rubber floor) family play area.

The St. Joseph Tennis & Swim Club features 5 indoor and 3 outdoor state of the art tennis courts. The facility has an indoor spectators lounge, locker rooms, snack bar, fully-stocked pro-shop, and an outdoor seasonal pool. Facility memberships are available, as well as tennis instruction for every level players.

This 23 acre complex serves residents and visitors in a variety of ways. The 12 lighted tennis courts and adjacent filed house make it an ideal setting for tournaments, as well as high school, college, and general play. The complex also includes 16 lighted horseshoe courts, two bantam football fields, a lighted ballfield, and a multipurpose building for the youth fields. The complex is complimentary to Central High School within the same large city block. Residents use the track surrounding the high school football field for fitness endeavors. The tennis and horseshoe courts, football fields, and ballfield all feature appropriate seating, concessions, and available locker room facilities. The complex will feature a new aquatic park in 2005.
Hyde Park Recreational Complex: 3 courts

Hyde Park is focused as 93 acre active use park with a swimming pool, skate park, six lighted ballfields, three lighted tennis courts, basketball court, horseshoe courts, two concession stands, paved walking trail, playground area, and restrooms. The ballfields vary in size, accommodating many skill levels, and also feature appropriate seating. The pool facility features a pool house and was renovated in 2005. For less active use, there are four shelters, one set as an alternate use bandstand, and a gazebo surrounded by tables, grills, and shade trees. This area is the most popular for family and company gatherings from early spring through late fall. The varied terrain lends itself to some exciting sledding during the snowy winter.
