The famous overland mail service by horseback began here on April 3, 1860. The state-of-the-art exhibits illustrate the need, creation, operation and termination of the Pony Express. 

Hours: 9 am-5 pm Mon-Sat; 1-5 pm Sun (year round); Closed Thanksgiving Day, Dec. 24, 25, 31, & Jan. 1. Admission: $4 adults, $3.00 seniors, $2 students (7-18), 6 & under free, museum members free.
