Preserving the past for future generations has been the goal of Northwest Missouri Genealogical Society (NWMGS) for over 25 years. The Society promotes the study and research of family history in Northwest Missouri serving: Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Clinton, DeKalb, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway and Worth counties.

NWMGS collects, publishes and preserves genealogical materials and historical records of our area, assists members by instruction, pools resources and provides its members the opportunity to meet others with similar interests in researching family history so they can share their knowledge and experience with others.

NWMGS collects and occasionally publishes information from other nearby counties including northeast Kansas.

The NWMGS Library has a fairly extensive collection of resource materials, reference books, microfilm, microfiche, CD ROMS for this area, surrounding states and across the country.
